Pantev, Andrey

 

Andrey Pantev was born to a teachers' family on 26 March 1939. His native place is the village of Rakovitsa, Montana region.
He graduated from the History Department of the Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia.
Post-graduate specialization studies in Great Britain (1967) and the United States (1979).
Between 1982 and 1984 Pantev read lectures in Balkans History at some US universities.
He is the author of 22 books and hundreds of articles.
Professor in modern history at the Kliment Ohridski University since 1975.
Professor Pantev has given, on a regular basis and in many places throughout the country, public lectures on issues of history, ethnology, culturology, and political science.
Non-committed to any political party.
He has been co-founder of a number of civil movements, 1999-2000.
2005 - member of parliament, Coalition for Bulgaria.
2009 - MP, 41st National Assembly, Parliamentary Group of the Coalition for Bulgaria.
