Victor Petrov was born in Varna in 1987. 

He completed his undergraduate degree in Modern History in Oxford University in 2009 and is currently studying for a Master's in the same field.

The dissertation on Bulgarian dissidence aims at exploring a little-discussed aspect of the 1989 revolutions, at least in the West, and in uncovering the Bulgarian dissident movement's origins, aims and ultimately - role - in the events of 1989/1990.
