Ekaterina Ivanova Mikhailova

 

    Ekaterina Mikhailova was born on 24 October 1956 in Pazardzhik. She completed her higher education at the Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia with a degree in law.

    Lawyer's practice in Pazardzhik.
    Member of the United Christian Democratic Centre.
    1991 - 1994 - deputy to the 36th National Assembly elected from the UDF. 
    Deputy Chair of the Parliamentary group of the UDF.
    Member of the Legislative Committee.
    1994 - 1997 - deputy to the 37th National Assembly from the UDF.
    1995 - Deputy Chair of the Committee on Human Rights and Religious Denominations.
    1997 - MP in the 38th National Assembly.
    Leader of the Parliamentary Group of the UDF.

    2001 - Deputy to the 39 National Assembly; Leader of the UDF, after Ivan Kostov  withdrew from the post.

    2004 - Joined the Kostov-led group of MPs to form a new parliamentary group of the United Democratic Forces and later found a new political party - Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria expected to participate in the 2005 election.

    2005 - elected deputy to the 40th National assembly from the DSB.
