“Vratsa” limestone is obtained in the Vratsa region (Northeastern Bulgaria). In Europe it is familiar under the name “Danubian stone”. 

Traditional building material, obtained for over a hundred years now, “Vratsa” limestone is used for interior and exterior facing, flooring, architectural details and sculptures.

The limestone obtained in the stone-pits of Gorna Kremena and Varbeshnitsa date back to the Early Cretaceous period. They are dense and compact, thick-layered. Their colour varies from white to yellow-white with creamy formations.
